WEEK 4.28? Wow, look, an update for once! Okay so I guess I should start by saying sorry for my tardiness... Again. I have been really busy with school lately, lots of work and stuff. (I can just hear the Seniors laughing in the distance.) Anyways, I suppose I should get to the actual update!As you all know, last week didn't really have a real update but it did touch on the basic just of everything, meaning that this week there is going to be some repetition along with added detail. Meaning this post will probably get fairly long so just bear with me. Okay so as I mentioned in last week's "update", the polls have been completed for the fan favorite, six background ponies. The results came out as followed:- Apple Bloom
- Snowdrop
- Vinyl Scratch (DJ-Pon3)
- Trixie Lulamoon (Just this week, did I discover her last name.)
- Princess Luna
- Octavia Melody
Now, as a quick briefing of all of those characters, I will say a bit about each one. In terms of Apple Bloom, if you are on this website or reading this far because you are interested in this project, then you know who she is. Now, she may or may not be joined by the rest of the CMC (Cutie Mark Crusaders [Sweetie Belle & Scootaloo]), depending on how it fits into the script, the difficulty level of animation etc.As for Snowdrop, I already explained who she was in a fair bit of detail, two blog posts ago so if you want to know more about her, refer back to that. (http://poniesarejustawesome.weebly.com/1/post/2013/10/ponies-are-just-awesome-update-2.html)Vinyl Scratch, also known by the Brony community as DJ-Pon3, appears in multiple episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, including, Suited for Success, A Canterlot Wedding - Part 2, Magic Mystery Cure and My Little Pony: Equestria Girls. She was never named in the show but the fans drew a liking to her and created a name. Here are examples of here appearances in the show (I'm sure you will recognize her when you see her): As for Trixie Lulamoon and Princess Luna, both have appeared multiple times as main characters to the plot of an episode, in the show but neither are actual main characters. Finally, Octavia Melody is another background pony who was taken and pushed along by the bronies and who was given her name, by the fans. Octavia appears in the following Episodes: The Best Night Ever and Sweet and Elite (Due to lack of time I can not make a video featuring all of her appearances like I did for Vinyl.)As a side note, Octavia and Vinyl have a strong relationship created by the fans and portrayed in the following video: Besides that, there is nothing really new! Kim Daniels and Glory Heron joined the voice acting team last week! WEEK 3.5 Hey everyone! I'm really sorry that I haven't posted on schedule! I missed last Saturday due to family problems and I have been very occupied with homework this last week! With that being said I will quickly mention the big changes made, with little detail and next Saturday (November 2nd), I will add upon it.
Okay so the big changes this week are that the six background ponies have been chosen and two new voice actors have been added to the team, along with one artist!
The six background ponies are:
- Apple Bloom
- Snowdrop
- Vinyl Scratch (DJ-Pon3)
- Trixie
- Princess Luna
- Octavia Melody
The new voice actors consist of Kim Daniels, as the role of Rainbow Dash and Glory Heron, as the role of Applejack. WEEK 2 Okay guys so here it is, update 2! As you all know last week the 'Ponies Are Just Awesome' project was officially announced! Public casting calls were released for voice actors and artists, and a poll was put out for people to help vote the characters needed, into the script. Well you guys responded amazingly to those two thing! I got more than 20 auditions for voice actor positions, 2-5 artist applications and more than 283 votes on the poll! And I guess that brings us to where we are today!
Just a few minutes ago I updated the website to match the current position of the project!
To start, congratulations to Chell Iceheart and Katie Reed for getting the roles of Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy! Now just because those were the only two accepted auditions, out of the 20 received does not mean that the other 18 are going to waste or aren't good enough! It simply means that I am interested in what I have seen and that I am still deciding. In the end though, if worse come to worse and you do end up not getting a part, just don't forget that auditions for the background ponies, chosen by the poll, will be put out next week or the week after, when all of the 6 background ponies are voted it!

As I mentioned in the first paragraph, you guys did a great job of voting on the first poll! For those of you who do not know what the first poll was for, because you did not see the last blog post or because you are just unaware, the first poll was being used to help finish create the lyrics. The second verse of the final lyrics is going to be sung by the top 6 background ponies voted in, by the poll, and the lyrics that they sing will properly match each character and help reflect the project. Now after the first poll last week and the entire 283 votes that were casted we have skimmed down our list of background ponies, to the following.
The ponies that will be in the final lyrics, 100%, are:
Apple Bloom (with 19 votes) and Snowdrop (with 17 votes)
Debating on the animating side of the project and other factors, Apple Bloom may be accompanied by the rest of the CMC but I am not sure yet.

Snowdrop is a fan made character, who features as the main character in an animation, created by Silly Filly Studios. With those two characters set in stone, the following all tied scores for 3rd place (with 15 votes each) and will be moving on to round 2 of poll voting:

 Hello everybody! As you can clearly tell from the header at the top of this website, I am working on a project called "Ponies Are Just Awesome". Just to recap, Ponies Are Just Awesome will be a fan made, animated parody project of the Discovery Channel original song, "The World is Just Awesome" also know as "Boom De Yada". For those of you who have never seen or heard the original song here it is:
For Ponies Are Just Awesome, picture exactly what you just watched but with different scenes, sights and sounds to better reflect the TV show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
My goal in creating this project is to make a video that will describe how the brony (the aged audience of My Little Pony: FiM) fandom sees the world of Equestria and the community around it, in general. Inside and out.
My inspiration for this project is rooted from the fans of the Minecraft video game, who created a similar themed video but for their game instead of in our case, our TV show. The video can be seen below: Now that you have the basic just of what the video will be and why it is being created, let's talk about how it is being created.
To date I have personally completed the song's rewritten lyrics (to be tweaked based off of poll results on homepage [I will explain farther later on in this paragraph]) and general storyboarding (generically set scenes with no specific characters involved).
However though the lyrics and storyboarding have been generically rewritten and drawn, they are not yet complete. They both require your help! To specify, the rewritten song is going to be split up into three parts. The original lyrics look like such:

As you can see there is three verses in the original lyrics and in each verse there is six lines, each said by a different person. Meaning that in the rewritten lyrics, the first six lines will be said by the Mane 6, the next six lines will be said by the most popular background ponies (As voted in by all of you on the front page. If you look right under the "Storyboarding" section there is a poll for voting for your favorite background ponies. The six with the most votes will win and any ties will be resulted in a second, even third or forth poll.) and the last 6 lines will be sung by any popular/famous brony YouTubers that we can get our hands on. The chorus itself will also be sung by anyone involved in the project, at all, as a choir.
The new lyrics and the storyboard will both be shared when the poll has been completed and the project has been updated accordingly.
As for other progressions in the project itself, we are currently having TheMusicReborn (http://www.youtube.com/TheMusicReborn) create the background music for the video so that we do not suffer from any copyright issues ect. For examples of his work, refer to the following:
With the piano is the background in both of those songs, having been done by him, I feel honored to have him as part of the team and I think that he is going to put out an amazing take on "The World is Just Awesome"'s instrumental.
Anyways, so far that is all the progression that has been made, to date on the project! Check back every week for more updates, as in the future we will be looking for puppet creators, background designers, special effects teams, sound effects teams and more! Also if you are interested in possibly voice acting in the project, there is currently a form set up on the homepage of the website, to submit your auditions for a spot as one of the Mane 6 ponies. After the top 6 background ponies have been chosen, voice actors will be required for them too and a form will be put out for audition submission possibilities!
